Our Story

Hi, I’m Rachel McCoy — proud mother of four, homeschool teacher, and owner of a small goat farm in the countryside of Rockwell, North Carolina. Our company, Rustic Edge Soaps, was born out of love: love for my family, for animals, and for creating something wholesome and nourishing from the ground up.

My journey began when my first child was born. We discovered early on that he had an allergy to cow milk, which led me to explore alternatives. That’s when I found goat milk — and it changed everything. I purchased my first Nubian dairy goat, and soon saw a dramatic improvement in my son’s health. One goat turned into many, and before long, our small farm was thriving.

As my children grew and no longer required a goat milk diet, I began looking for ways to use the extra milk our goats produced. That’s when I started making soap — first just for us, then for friends and family. I quickly realized how much I preferred my own soaps to the chemical-laden options on store shelves. I also loved the process and the creativity it allowed, but even more, I loved knowing exactly what went into the products my family was using.

I spent countless hours researching ingredients and perfecting recipes using only high-quality, natural ingredients that were gentle, nourishing, and effective. The response from friends and family was overwhelming — and that’s how Rustic Edge Soaps came to life.

What started as a personal solution to my son’s allergy has grown into a full line of handcrafted skincare products made with love and purpose. Today, Rustic Edge Soaps offers a wide variety of natural soaps, lotions, lip balms, shampoo bars, body scrubs, beard oils and butters, and so much more.

At Rustic Edge Soaps, we believe skincare should be simple, honest, and rooted in nature. Every product is made in small batches on our farm, with goat milk from our own herd and thoughtfully chosen ingredients that put your skin’s health first.

From our family to yours — welcome, and thank you for supporting Rustic Edge Soaps.
